A window onto Hackney’s gritty past; photographer and historian Neil Martinson will guide us through previously unseen images of the borough.
East London in the 70s and 80s was raw and vivid: bombed-out houses, kids playing in the streets, factories abuzz with workers. While still at school local photographer Neil Martinson set off on a journey through workshops, street markets and council homes to capture a time and place before technology and gentrification changed local lives forever.
